The state medical examiner's office has determined that two of four members of a family slain in an apparent murder-suicide Sunday were shot twice in the head.

Ogden police earlier had said it appeared Kyu Suhn An, 33, had shot his wife and two young children once each in the head before turning his .38-caliber handgun on himself.Authorities said financial problems may have been behind the slayings at Han's Market, which An owned and operated.

However, autopsies revealed that An's wife, Nam Heu An, 34, and their 6-year-old son, Phillip, were each shot twice, said Ogden Police Sgt. Bruce Hartman. Sarah An, 2, was killed by a single shot.

Hartman also said the investigation into the slayings ended Wednesday, and authorities now are confident they were a multiple murder-suicide.

Medical examinations of the bodies ruled out outside involvement and the possibility of a killer making the deaths appear as a murder-suicide, he said.

An initial investigation in Han's Market turned up five slugs - four upstairs in the living quarters and one in the store on the main level.

During a subsequent investigation, however, detectives discovered five slugs in the apartment and one in the store, said Detective Capt. Marlin Balls.

Balls said An shot his wife, son and daughter in the apartment and then reloaded his five-shot revolver, walked downstairs and shot himself.

Police found him about 8:30 p.m., sprawled halfway behind a counter. A snub-nose revolver lay at his feet. He was pronounced dead at McKay-Dee Hospital after 10 p.m.
