Utah landscape artist and art teacher Frank Erickson died Nov. 16, 1989, in Salt Lake City. He was 66.
Mr. Erickson was known for his impressionistic paintings of Utah's mountains and other landscape scenes.He taught art at Orem High School and at Granite Park and Glendale Junior High schools. He and his wife, Gloria, operated Phranques Gallery of Fine Art in Holladay, where they taught art classes.
He was born Dec. 29, 1922, in Salt Lake City to Frank W. and Sylvia Parker Erickson. He served in the Navy during World War II and later earned a master of fine arts degree from the University of Utah.
A memorial is scheduled Sunday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m. on the bank of the Weber River in the picnic area immediately below Rockport Dam. Friends may call at the family home on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.
