Convicted murderer Mark Hopkinson plans to ask the U.S. Supreme Court to hear his appeal in his continuing efforts to overturn his death sentence, according to his attorney.

Wyoming Public Defender Leonard Munker said that he and Denver attorney Dan Sears will submit a petition to the Supreme Court for the review of Hopkinson's sentence.Hopkinson has been sentenced to death in connection with his first-degree murder conviction for ordering the 1979 torture slaying of Jeffrey Lynn Green.

Green died before he was to have testified before a grand jury about the bombing deaths of Evanston attorney Vincent Vehar and two members of his family in 1977.
