Steve Johnson lashed out at the Minnesota Timberwolves Monday, saying he had no intention of playing for the NBA expansion team.
"I do not want to play for them," he said. "They are a terrible team and they've got terrible management. They don't care at all about what the team does this year. They've got their season tickets and their sponsorships. They've got their new arena next season. But they have CBA (Continental Basketball Association) players. It's not a situation a player wants to be in unless he's a CBA type of player." The former Oregon State star, who lives in Portland, was taken by the Timberwolves from the Portland Trail Blazer roster in this year's expansion draft. He has refused to negotiate with Minnesota, but had refrained from attacking the organization until now.
