Former child star and veteran U.S. diplomat Shirley Temple Black has been a witness to history in her new job as ambassador to Czechoslovakia. Back when she first reported to Prague in August, she hoped to make some small progress in the battle for human rights and freedom for political prisoners there. But in the months since then, she has seen the people topple and replace the communist regime. "I don't have to go down there and read (the government) those lists of political prisoners any more," she told People magazine. "One of (those prisoners) is now the deputy prime minister.
