"Pirate Radio USA" is coming to KRSP (FM-103.5, alias "Rock 103") this weekend. The new program is hitting the KRSP radio waves Saturday nights from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m.

"It's like nothing you'll ever hear," Ron Bowen, KRSP program director said. "Pirate Radio USA is an attitude, it's more than a show and it has literally shot up to the top of the Los Angeles ratings in one year."Bowen also said that "Pirate Radio" is an anti-establishment "sit-down-your-mother-outside-and-turn-up-radio-rock" type of show.

KRSP operations manager Steve Carlson believes that there is an audience in Utah for this kind of music and that they will tune in every Saturday night to hear L.A. style rock.

Utah listeners will also be able to call in on Pirate Radio's toll-free party lines.

- In other KRSP news, the station will broadcast the Rolling Stones concert live Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m. The concert will also simultaneously be broadcast on Showtime, cable TV.

- The most popular albums of all time are played during another popular KRSP program called "On the Seventh Day." Kelly Monson hosts this show Sundays at 7 p.m.

- "The Official History of Rock 'n' Roll" is another new rock program on KRSP-FM. It airs Sundays from 8 a.m. until noon.

- "Rock Notes," also hosted by Monson, is yet another new program that keeps KRSP listeners updated.

- The "Rock 103 Assault Vehicle" is a 30-foot mobile studio that the station has been using recently to go on location for broadcasts.

- KSL (AM-1160) - The CBS Radio/TV "Poet in Residence," Charles Osgood, will be making a visit to Salt Lake City, Friday, Dec. 15. This versatile journalist will deliver his four daily "Osgood File" broadcasts live that day from the KSL Radio studios. One of those segments will focus on Utah.

(Osgood air times will be 5:25 a.m., 6:25 a.m., 7:25 a.m. and 8:25 a.m.)

He will also be a guest on Doug Wright's Friday morning KSL show (9:06-10:00) and will speak at a noon luncheon sponsored by the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce and KSL.

- KSL will air Christmas music from Utah high school choirs Sunday, Dec. 10, at 1 p.m.

- Doug Wright's morning show on Monday, Dec. 11, (9-11) will explore, with listeners, where to find those hard to locate Christmas gifts. Former Utah Gov. Cal Rampton will discuss his new book on Wright's show at 11:06 a.m.

- Tuesday, Dec, 12, "Family Forum" will examine "A Child's Responsibility for Work," at 10:06 a.m.

- California Congressman William Dannemeyer will discuss his views on homosexuality Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m. on Bob Lee's program.

- Former KUTV newsman Rick Shenkman will talk about his new book Thursday, Dec. 14, 11:06 a.m. on Wright's show.

Bob Lee's program Thursday, Dec. 14, and Friday, Dec. 15, will examine "Women at Work" (1 p.m. on both days).

- The station will air the North Texas at BYU basketball game tonight at 7 p.m., and the Cougar Classic game Saturday, Dec. 9, will be at 5 p.m. or 7 p.m., depending on the outcome of tonight's contest.

The Giants at Broncos NFL game airs Sunday, Dec. 10, at 1:50 p.m., and the New England at Miami contest follows at 5:45 p.m.

The San Francisco and the L.A. Rams NFL game airs Monday, Dec. 11, at 6:45 p.m., and the Golden Eagles will be discussed during the Tuesday, Dec. 12, "Sportscentral" show with Chris Tunis (6:30 p.m.).

- KSRR (AM-1400, alias "K-Star") is playing 100 percent Christmas music until New Year's Day. If you live or work in the extreme southern end of Salt Lake County, or in Utah County, you may be lucky enough to pick up the station's broadcasting signal. Otherwise, if you have a satellite dish, it can be found on Spacenet 1, channel 17 at 6.8 MHZ.

- KALL (AM-910) - Here's the Saturday, Dec. 9, schedule for "The Radio Advice Network:

- 7-8 a.m., the "Grow-It" show will feature Craig Aston, horticultural instructor at Utah State addressing "Making Your Christmas Tree Last." From 8-9 a.m, "Hometalk" will have guest Al Kessler, residential general contractor, discussing "Wintertime Home Repair Proj-ects."

- From 9-10 a.m., Becky Low and Joanne Mortensen, both home economists from the USU cooperative extension service, will discuss "Simple and Inexpensive Cooking Tips."

- On "Auto-Medic (10-11 a.m.), Don Burdette and Jerry Johnson from the Salt Lake Community College will examine "Your Car's Electrical System."

- The Ute basketball game at Denver will air Saturday, Dec. 9, at 6:40 p.m. The Phoenix at Los Angeles NFL game will be broadcast Sunday, Dec. 10, 1:33 p.m.

- KALL and sister station KLCY and two other sponsors have donated ballet tickets for the "Nutcracker" to Salt Lake's Family Support Center for the Friday, Dec. 22, matinee .

- KUER (FM-90.1) will air the "Vivaldi Candlelight Concert" Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 8 p.m.

- KCPX (FM-98.7) will broadcast an exclusive interview with "The New Kids on the Block" Tuesday, Dec. 12, from 9-10 p.m. on Tom Timmons' show.
