Robert Victor Frandsen--who stabbed another man to death after catching him in bed with Frandsen's estranged wife--will serve only one year in jail for the crime.

Originally charged with second-degree murder in the death of Vance E. Boren, 31, Frandsen pleaded guilty in November to the lesser charge of manslaughter.Frandsen, 40, admitted stabbing Boren seven times with scissors after finding him in bed with his estranged wife at the Frandsen home, 5324 S. Appian Way.

Howard Lemcke, Salt Lake County deputy attorney, argued that Frandsen should serve the regular sentence for manslaughter, which is one to 15 years in the Utah State Prison.
