A singing telegram entertainer getting out of a helicopter to greet guests at a party lost two fingers to the chopper's blade when she raised her hands to wave, a sheriff's deputy said.

Chanel Price, 31, of Venice was in stable condition Saturday at UCLA Medical Center, recovering from the accident Friday night in this ritzy, oceanfront colony, said Sheriff's Deputy Bill Wehner.Price was hired to entertain guests at a private St. Patrick's party.

"After landing at the location, Price got out of the helicopter and raised both hands in celebration," Wehner said. "She had two fingers on her left hand severed by the moving rotor blade."

The pilot put Price back into the helicopter and flew to a gas station parking lot across the street from a medical clinic, where she was treated before being taken to UCLA Medical Center. Her severed fingers could not be found.
