Theron W. Fotheringham, 80, who worked for Prudential Insurance Co. of America in various capacities for 40 years, Thursday night received a Life Achievement Award from the Utah Association of Life Underwriters. He received a crystal carving from Stephen W. Barlow, president-elect.

A native of Milford, Beaver County, Fotheringham was agency manager, brokerage manager, special agent and agent emeritus for Prudential. He served as president of the Salt Lake Chapter of the Society of Chartered Life Underwriters in 1947.Fotheringham also was president of the UALU, president of the Salt Lake Chapter of Life Underwriters and president of the Managers and General Agents Association.

New officers for the state group include Roy V. Allen, general manager of Standard Insurance Co., immediate past president; Hank Hoole, agent for New York Life Insurance Co., president; Barlow, agent for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co.; John Homer, agent for Alexander Hamilton Insurance Co., vice president; and Charles Sorensen, an agent for Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Co., secretary.
