Kim Anderson, a local bank manager, has been named "Citizen of the Year," recognizing his contribution to youth programs as chairman of the city's eight-member Recreation Committee.

"Manti City's recreation program has become recognized as one of the best in the state," Councilman Jim Peterson said in presenting Anderson with a plaque.Peterson said Anderson had presided over the construction of a clubhouse and several lighted playing fields. Anderson, who was recently promoted by his company, will be leaving Manti to pursue his employment. Jim Braithwaite, a Manti pharmacist and member of the Recreation Committee, will succeed Anderson as chairman.
