Florence Boden Pinnock, 81, a long-time member of the general board of the Young Women of the LDS Church, died May 7, 1989.

Mrs. Pinnock served for 34 years on the Young Women general board and also held position with the church's Primary and Relief Society programs. She also served on the church's Teacher Development Committee.She was active in community programs, including the PTA, Daughters of Utah Pioneers and Pen Women. She worked as a home economist for Mountain Fuel Supply and KSL and also taught home economics at the University of Utah. She wrote the "Today's Family" article for the Improvement Era for 11 years.

Mrs. Pinnock was a graduate of LDS High School and the University of Utah, where she earned a degree in home economics. While in college she was active in Gamma Sigma, serving as president in her senior year.

She was born Aug. 14, 1907, in Salt Lake City, to Heber Wallace and Ruby Irvine Boden. She was married to Lawrence S. Pinnock, on April 16, 1931, in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death.

Funeral will be Wednesday noon in the Murray 23rd Ward chapel, 775 E. Three Fountains Drive (4950 South). Friends may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the ward chapel Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Burial will be in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
