A train traveling from a Black Sea resort rammed into a bus in Russia, killing 31 people and injuring at least 14 in the Soviet Union's second major train accident this week, Tass reported Saturday.

The official Soviet news agency said the bus was crossing railroad tracks at the village of Kamenskaya-Pogorelovo, 640 miles southwest of Moscow when it was hit by the train Friday afternoon.Tass said a railroad worker had flagged the bus driver to move onto the tracks, but the report did not say if he faced punishment.

The train, traveling at 50 mph from the popular Black Sea resort of Adler to the Russian city of Voronezh, could not stop in time to avoid colliding with the bus, Tass said.
