Zsa Zsa Gabor admits slapping a Beverly Hills cop and says she wishes she had hit him harder because he was calling her names and bruising her arm.
Gabor, 66, a former movie actress, told reporters Thursday her side of a story that began Wednesday when the traffic cop pulled over her white Rolls-Royce because it had expired registration tags."It was like Nazi Germany or communist Russia. I don't know what happened," Gabor said.
The officer, who has not been identified, found that Gabor's driver's license was also out of date and, when he went back to his motorcycle to radio for information on possible warrants, she drove off, said Lt. Jim Smith.
Gabor said the officer made her sit on the curb "in my new French dress" and she pleaded with him to speed things up.
"I told the officer, `I'm in a very great hurry. I have to go,"' she said. "He told me -- off and I thought that meant I could go, not knowing American."
When the Hungarian-born Gabor drove off, the officer pulled her over again several blocks away and ordered her out of her car, Smith said.
"As she was stepping out, she slapped the officer in the face. The officer immediately placed her under arrest and called for backup," Smith said.
Gabor said the officer called her a "----whore five times," and pulled her out of the car by the arm.
"My arms are all black and blue and swollen," Gabor said, displaying what looked like bruises on her arm. "I slapped him so he would let my arm go because it hurt so much.
"I wish I would have hit him stronger, scratched his eye out. It was a natural reaction, he was hurting me so much."
Gabor said the officer, who she described as a "6-foot-6 gorgeous looking policeman," made her stand spread-eagle against the car and handcuffed her. She was released on her own recognizance.
