Two Utah bicyclists retracing the historic Pony Express Trail were racing toward their destination Friday - expecting to arrive nine days and 22 hours after they began.

Thursday night, the duo stopped in Seneca, Kan., just 90 miles away from their final destination of St. Joseph, Mo.Fellow bike riders were to meet at some stables and symbolically ride with them for the last two blocks of their journey to the Patee House - a large hotel where the original Pony Express riders delivered the mail nearly 125 years ago.

The St. Joseph mayor and the director of the Pony Express Museum were to meet the cyclists and their eight-member support team when they finished their 1,938-mile trek.

"It's going to be kind of a fun ending," Jay Aldous, 27, Salt Lake City, said Thursday night.
