Albert B. Fritz, 84, Kearns, former president of the Salt Lake Branch, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, died June 14, 1989, of natural causes in a West Valley hospital.

He had served on the executive board of the NAACP, the Legal Aid Society, the Nettie Gregory Center, was a member of the Consumer Credit Board and a member of the Salt Lake County Bar Legal Services.Mr. Fritz was presented the NAACP Branch's Martin Luther King Award in 1986. In 1983 he was one of six Salt Lakers honored by the Salt Lake Chapter, Anti-Defamation League, the B'nai Women and F.F. Peixotto Lodge No. 421 for "outstanding service in the field of human relations."

He was born Feb. 28, 1905, in Lansing, Mich., was a member of the Trinity A.M.E. Church, a retired Kennecott Copper Corp. electrician and a member of Local 4347, AFL-CIO.

Funeral will be held at noon Tuesday in the Trinity A.M.E. Church, 239 E. Sixth South. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour before services Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Larkin Sunset Gardens, Sandy.
