Southern California is Dan Quayle's kind of place. The vice president and his wife, Marilyn, are thinking about buying a vacation home because they have "fallen in love" with the area, a Quayle spokesman said. The Quayles haven't gone so far as to engage a broker yet but they will spend a week of August in California and may do some house-hunting then, the spokesman said. Sources say the Quayles don't want to continue imposing on friends by staying in their homes when they go on vacation and hotels can be a problem because of Quayle's entourage and security concerns.
