The Navy told the comptroller general, however, it believes the Vietnam War veteran should be allowed to keep his pension despite his felony convictions in the Iran-Contra scandal."The Department of the Navy has sought a final decision from the comptroller general on the question of whether Lt. Col. Oliver North's retired pay and allowances be continued despite his sentencing today," said a Navy statement.
