A freight train in Siberia ran over and killed seven people who were sleeping on the tracks, the official Tass news agency said Friday.

"A freight train ran over seven people on the Kazynet-Biskamzha route in Siberia," Tass quoted a local newspaper as saying. "The engineer noticed the people lying on the track and signaled to them, but they did not move away and were evidently sleeping. Bags of pine cones were found near their bodies."
