It's a girl.

Entertainer Marie Osmond and husband Brian Blosil became proud parents again Saturday morning when the 29-year-old mother gave birth to an 8-pound, 9-ounce baby girl - Rachael Lauren Blosil. The 20-inch baby made her appearance at 10:23 a.m. at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, hospital spokesman Clark Caras said. He didn't know how long Marie was in labor but said the couple had arrived at the hospital the night before. The birth, however, had no complications.

"Mom and baby are doing great," Caras said. "Brian was with Marie the whole time."

Although the "Entertainment Tonight" TV show was to report the event, Caras described Saturday's birth as a low-key "family event" and not the national media circus that took place when Marie gave birth to her first child in 1983.

"Inquiring minds have not been bothering us today," he said.

Stephen, 6, was born to Marie and her first husband, basketball player Stephen Craig, on April 20, 1983. She and Blosil adopted Jessica Marie, 19 months, in January 1988.

Marie and her new daughter will likely return to their Provo home on Monday.
