Wayne Moore, a starting offensive tackle for the Miami Dolphins' Super Bowl champions in 1972 and 1973, died Saturday of a heart attack at his home, a University of Miami spokesman said.

Moore, 44, played with the Dolphins from 1970 to 1978. Former teammate Jim Mandich said Moore's death was a shock because he had appeared to be in good health.Moore had lived in Miami since his retirement and was a salesman for a construction company, Mandich said.

Moore, who played college ball at Lamar Tech, helped the Dolphins' 1972 team compile a 17-0 record. He made the Pro Bowl in 1973.

"He was a tremendous player, a great offensive lineman," Mandich said. "If you were looking for a guy 6-9 and 275 pounds who always had a smile on his face and always had a kind word for everyone, that was Wayne Moore.
