A new board of directors for the Park City Shakespeare Festival, and tentative plans for the 1990 season, have been announced by Ron Burnett, the festival's producing director.

Next summer, the board plans to split the festival's season between Salt Lake City and Park City, with the festival opening July 6 in Salt Lake, then moving Aug. 9 to Park City, playing through Sept. 9, giving the festival a 10-week run.Shows planned for the 1990 season are "The Taming of the Shrew," "Love's Labours Lost" and "Measure for Measure."

The festival's new board members are Dan Christen, Jennifer Richardson, Lynn Christen, Paul Richardson, Jeff Nichol and Tracy Highland.

Lynn Christian has been appointed as new general manager. She will be in charge of the business end of the festival, with Burnett continuing as artistic director.

The festival's current production of "The Worlds of Shakespeare" is going into the final two weekends of its run. Performances are at 8 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Sept. 2 across from the Olympic Hotel.

The show, a compilation of scenes from several Shakespearean works, "has introduced the work of the festival to people who do not usually like Shakespeare," said Burnett.

"In spite of the problems of the summer in mounting the festival, this production has proven to be just as popular as productions in previous seasons," he said.

Tickets are priced at $5 for general admission, or $3.50 for students and senior citizens. Group rates (four or more) are $3 each. Tickets are available at all Smith'sTix outlets, Park City Adventures, or at the door prior to performance.

Burnett said the production was made possible in part by a grant from the Summit County Travel Council.
