As a tribute to their late father, Abbie Hoffman's son and daughter are starting a group to unite environmental, human and animal rights groups. "We were sitting around trying to figure out what would be in Abbie's spirit, and not some sort of mushy memorial gobbledygook," said Andrew Hoffman, 28. Hoffman, a jeweler and carpenter, and his sister, Ilya, a state social services caseworker, are calling the group Organizers International. Abbie Hoffman, 52, a lifelong political activist who co-founded the Yippie movement, died April 12 in his home near New Hope, Pa. A coroner said Hoffman died of an overdose of the sedative phenobarbital and large quantities of alcohol.
