No one was injured Tuesday night when a tank trailer carrying about 5,000 gallons of crude oil burst into flames after it rolled on I-215 near the I-15 interchange in North Salt Lake. The driver of the rig simply drove away from the tank after it came unhitched, firefighters said. The only casualty was the roadway, which was cracked, scorched and broken into pieces by flames that firefighters estimated reached well over 1,500 degrees. Eastbound I-215 was reopened to traffic about 3 a.m. Wednesday. South Davis Fire District Lt. Tony Glezos said it took firefighters about 30 minutes to contain the blaze, which raged just a couple of blocks from Chevron's oil refinery. More than 14 fire trucks were called out to fight the fire.
