Dell Curry, who has developed into a consistent scorer for the Charlotte Hornets, has signed a four-year, $4.5 million contract extension with the NBA club, a Virginia newspaper reported today.

The Hornets are waiting for the league office to approve the contract before the club announces the re-signing of Curry.Curry, 25, is earning $325,000 in the final year of a four-year, $1.075 million contract he signed as a rookie with Utah after the Jazz made him the 15th pick in the 1986 NBA draft. He spent his first season with Utah, then was traded to Cleveland before the 1987-88 season.
