Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Gerald Rulon Hales, age 64, passed away January 19, 1990 in Vero Beach, Florida.
He was born June 28, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Rulon and Vera Maria Holbrook Hales. He married Joyce Wilson Bolt on December 23, 1950 in Great Neck, New York. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Active member of the LDS Church where he served in many positions of service. Gerald served a Church mission to the France-Swiss Mission. Served as Bishop of the Queens Ward in Long Island New York. He loved missionary work both ward and stake. Retired from the J.C. Penny Company. Recently moved to Vero Beach, Florida. We love you and we'll miss you.Survived by his wife Joyce, Vero Beach, Florida; two sons, John Steven (wife Linda) Hales and James Rulon (wife Julie) Hales, both of New York; eight grandchildren; one brother, Bishop Robert Dean (wife Mary) Hales, Salt Lake; one sister, Janet Hales (husband Don) Clark, Burley, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held Thursday January 25, 1990 at 12 noon at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 South 2300 East, where friends may call Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday for one hour prior to services, Interment: Bountiful City Cemetery.
