A Midvale man who shot his friend and buried the body in his back yard last summer has been sentenced to spend one to 15 years in Utah State Prison.
Originally charged with second-degree murder, John Holloway, 45, pleaded guilty to manslaughter.In addition to serving prison time, Holloway must pay a $10,000 fine and restitution to the victim's family to be determined by the Board of Pardons.
Holloway shot Peter Henriquez, 32, in the head with a .22-caliber rifle on June 9. The two men had been drinking in Holloway's home in Midvale.
