George S. Brown, age 87, passed away January 26, 1990, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born May 9, 1902, in Cripple Creek, Colorado, to Kent and Alma Salt Brown. Married Ruby A. Mignerey on June 12, 1929, in Littleton, Colorado. In 1946, he was transferred from Denver to Salt Lake City where he served as District Manager of the Railroad Retirement Board until his retirement in 1965. Member of the Golden Agers Kiwanis, he served as president from 1980-1981. Member of the YMCA Triangle Club where he also served as president. A member of the First Methodist Church. He loved to go fishing and enjoyed the outdoors.Survived by his wife, of Salt Lake City; daughter, Mrs. R.L. (Barbara) Olson, of Huntsville, Alabama; and 2 granddaughters.
Following a private in-nichement at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mausoleum, memorial services will be held Tuesday, January 30th, 11 am, in the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple. The family suggests contributions be made in his name to the Utah Humane Society, P.O. Box 20222, West Valley City, UT 84120; or to a charity of your choice.
