Principal photography has begun on "Madame Bovary," a new adaptation of Gustave Flaubert's novel, written and directed by Claude Chabrol and starring Isabelle Huppert in the title role.

The movie will shoot in France for 12 weeks in Lyons la Fret and other Normandy locations for MK2 Productions."Madame Bovary" marks the third collaboration between Chabrol and Huppert, who previously made "Violette" and "Story of Women" together. Huppert won the best actress award at Cannes for "Violette" and the best actress award for "Story of Women" at the Venice Film Festivel.
