A 265,000-acre section of Millard County in Utah's western desert should be kept open for multiple use and not placed under wilderness designation, according to Millard County voters.

The measure was designed to give county commissioners more information on the proposal. Residents voted more than 6 to 1 against declaring the area wilderness.
