Wrote 29 books (still in print and many best sellers). Composed 200 plus published works of music. "To A Child." published in 17 languages, sold over one million copies. "Best Poetry Book In Nation", "Gleanings". Honored at White House under four different Presidents: Eisenhower, Truman, Kennedy and Johnson. 1st Place National Genealogical Association. Poet Laureate for World Congress of Poetry. 1st Runner-Up to California Mother of the Year. 1st Woman invited to speak at Westminster Abbey. Lectured at Oxford University; 35 years under contract with prestigious International Artists & Lecturers Bureau. Biblical and Technical Advisor to Cecil B. DeMille on "Ten Commandments". International Composers Guild "Composer Of The Year". Scripted and directed radio series for CBS for three years. Laureate of "Performing Arts". Honored by General Hap Arnold (Commander in Chief of Armed Forces) as "Most Outstanding Military Wife". BYU "Most Honored Alumni". Scholarship Eastman School of Music. Seven Honorary Doctorates. Three LDS Church Missions: Eastern States. England. Michigan.Survived by husband, Ret. Col. Robert W. Stewart; children, Sharon Nielson, Robert W. Stewart, Jr., Janet Geary, Allen Stewart, David Stewart, Glenda Stewart (deceased), Wendell Stewart; 31 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, Alma Pate; a brother and sisters, Irene Ereksen and Evelyn Van Valkenburg.
