Joseph Allen Tingey, Sr., Tingey, Sr., age 61, died February 18, 1990 at home of cancer.

Born June 3, 1928 in Bountiful, a son of Allen D. and Maxine Cahoon Tingey. Married Marjorie Abbott, June 3, 1946 in Malden, Massachusetts. He had lived in Centerville all his life, except while in the Navy and nine years spent in Massachusetts, early in his marriage. Was a member of the Bountiful Community Church and had served on the Board of Directors. Was a member of the JayCees and was very active in the Foster Parent Association. Was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and helped at the Veteran's Hospital in the Rehab Program. A member of the Bountiful Elks.Surviving are his wife, Centerville; two sons, four daughters, Joseph Allen, Jr., Centerville; Neil Isenhart (special son for 16 years), Bountiful; Mrs. Gary (Donna) Lund, Mrs. Kim (Bonnie) Stevens, both Centerville; Mrs. Jeff (Susan) Garvin, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Mrs. Michael (Robyn) Tolman, Farmington; also over 300 foster children, eight grandchildren; father, Centerville; two brothers, four sisters, Rolland and wife, Beverly, Steven and wife, Verletta, all of Bountiful; Mrs. Gordon (Anna) Boulton, Ferron, Utah; Colleen Potts, Centerville; Mrs. Charles (Karen) Sherwood, Fruit Heights; Mrs. Duane (Margaret) Burton, Layton.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 21, 1990, 12 noon, at the Bountiful Community Church, 100 No. 400 East with Rev. Donald Proctor officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 North 400 East, and on Wednesday one hour prior to services at the Church. Interment: Centerville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to the Foster Parent Association, Box 243, Centerville, Utah, 84014.
