The public has until March 8 to request a public hearing on a state proposal to replace the old bridge over Lower Courthouse Wash on north Highway 191.

The Utah Department of Transportation plans to replace the 55-year-old bridge about 1.5 miles north of Moab and to widen about three-fourths of a mile of the highway as part of the project. An environmental assessment defining the scope of the project, alternatives, potential environmental impacts and mitigation measures to reduce adverse impacts has been prepared and is available for public review and comment through March 15.

Comments should be addressed to: R. James Naegle, Location and Environmental Studies engineer, Utah Department of Transportation, 4501 S. 2700 West, Salt Lake City, UT 84119.
