As the New York Jets and Phoenix Cardinals are winding down their searches for head coaches, it appears 49er offensive coordinator Mike Holmgren could entertain offers from both teams by the middle of next week.
Holmgren, 41, interviewed with both the Jets and Cardinals several times this week regarding their searches for head coaches, and one report has him as both teams' top choice to fill the positions.Whether Holmgren would accept an offer from either remains unknown. He apparently has avoided all media contact since arriving at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis, where he is expected to remain through today.
Cardinal general manager Larry Wilson, checked out of his Indianapolis hotel room Saturday morning and reportedly was headed to Phoenix.
