Rock singer Billy Idol, shown in 1984, ran a stop sign and crashed his motorcycle into a car Tuesday, suffering leg and arm fractures, Los Angeles authorities said. Idol was listed in serious but stable condition at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after seven hours of surgery to repair his right lower leg, which sustained a compound fracture, and his right forearm. Idol had just finished an album called "Charmed Life" at a Hollywood studio when the accident occurred.
