Ken Wagner, who led Dixie College to four league championships in his five years there, has been named head basketball coach for Brigham Young University-Hawaii. Wagner succeeds Charles Hess, who resigned this week to pursue other interests.

Wagner is returning to BYU-Hawaii, where he served as an assistant coach for the 1984-85 season.At Dixie College Wagner's team compiled a 126-36 record and was ranked in the top 5 for the 1986-87 season.

Replacing Wagner at Dixie will be be Dave Rose, a three-year Rebel assistant to Wagner. Rose, who played at Dixie during the 1976-77 and 1979-80 seasons, previously had coached at Millard High and assisted at St. George's Pine View High.
