Two members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers rock band were charged with assaulting a woman in the audience during a show that was being taped for MTV Wednesday in Daytona Beach, Fla. Bassist Michael "Flea" Balcary of Los Angeles was charged with battery, disorderly conduct and solicitation to commit an unnatural and lascivious act, authorities said. Drummer Chad Smith, 28, of Los Angeles was charged with battery. They were arrested early Friday and released on bail. The Peppers went wild during the Wednesday show and began beating up their equipment, authorities said, and then Balcary and Smith jumped into the crowd. Balcary picked up a woman and began to spin her around on his shoulders, while Smith pulled her bathing suit to one side and began to slap her bottom. When they fell down, Balcary knelt on the woman's legs and yelled profanity at her before she cried for help and the band was escorted away.
