USU COUNCIL OKS DEPARTMENT CHIEF

The Utah State University Institutional Council has approved a new head of the English department.

Jeffrey Smitten was named head of the English department, effective July 1. He holds degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Wisconsin. He replaces Patricia Gardner, who is going on sabbatical leave and will return as a professor in the department.
