Stan Watts, former Brigham Young University basketball coach, is the recipient of the National Association of Basketball Coaches' Balfour Golden Anniversary Award for more than 50 years of outstanding service to the sport.

Watts and the members of the Silver Anniversary All-America team will be presented with rings from the L.G. Balfour Company at the annual NABC awards dinner on Sunday, April 1, 1990, at the Denver Convention Center. The dinner is held as part of the annual NABC convention in conjunction with the NCAA Final Four.Heading the list of the 1990 Silver Balfour Silver Anniversay All- America team is Rick Barry, the only player to lead the NCAA, ABA and NBA in scoring and an eight-time NBA all-star.

Comprised of outstanding college basketball players from the class of 1965 who have gone on to distinguish themselves in their respective careers, the Silver Anniversary All-America team also includes 1965 consensus All-America Fred Hetzel of Davidson College; Toby Kimball,who led the NCAA in rebounding at the University of Connecticut; long-time Phoenix Suns' standout Dick VanArsdale of Indiana University; and Houston orthopedic surgeon Dr. Donald Baxter of Mercer University.
