Carl E. Penman, age 85, died March 5, 1990.

Born October 1, 1904 in Bountiful, Utah, a son of John and Mary Ellen Coles Penman. He married Alice Lenore Christensen on June 28, 1922 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died October 29, 1988. He worked for D & RG Railroad for 25 years. He created and operated Penman Playground. His creations prove that he was a man way before his time.He is survived by his son, Douglas C. and wife Irene Joan Penman, West Jordan; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Bert (Lucille) Egli, Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 2 p.m., March 8, 1990, at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
