Mary Loretta Matthews Carpenter, 86, died April 9, 1990 at Hillside Villa Care Center in Salt Lake City of causes incident to age.
Born September 10, 1903 in Grand Junction, Colorado, daughter of Henry Thomas and Agnes Manix Matthews. Married Albert B. Carpenter, November 7, 1936 in Murray, Utah; he died May 21, 1978. Member of the Catholic Church. She worked for the Utah State Tax Commission in the accounting department. She also had worked for Murray City and the Murray City Power Plant.
Survived by sister-in-law, Shirley Carpenter, Meeker, Colorado and brother-in-law, Edward H. "Mike" Carpenter, Salt Lake City; who had looked after her since her husband died. Also survived by four nieces and nephews and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be 12 noon, Thursday, April 12, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South. Friends may call Thursday, 11:00 to 11:30 a.m., at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make contributions to the Intermountain Unit of Shriners Hospital of Crippled Children. Funeral Directors: Evans & Early.
