Despite her promise to buy pink lifeboats to guard residents against floods, voters in the small town of Yountville in California's wine-growing region rejected the mayoral aspirations of transsexual Terri Pohrman. Pohrman, 37, who favored red sequin gowns with decolletage, attracted national attention by bringing a light touch to the race and giving glittery campaign shows at the local California Veterans Home. While still a female impersonator, she had entertained the home's elderly residents, which make up 40 percent of the 1,800 registered voters in Yountville (population: 3,200). Pohrman got 280 votes Tuesday, against 621 for Mayor pro tem Carlee Leftwich. Former City Councilman Aaron Mosley finished third with 187 votes.
