A. Stats: Born May 31, 1934, in Binghampton, NY. Attended Syracuse University, Syracuse, N.Y., Niagara University, Niagara Falls, N.Y. Married twice, four children. His oldest son is actor Timothy Hutton.Early years: After winning a state oratorical contest, Hutton went to Syracuse on a scholarship but was tossed out for running a bulldozer through a bed of tulips. He transferred to Niagara, where he started acting.
Famous for: Hutton starred in a series of hit light comedies, "Where the Boys Are," "The Honeymoon Machine," "The Horizontal Lieutenant," "Never Too Late," "Who's Minding the Mint?"
Hutton died of liver cancer in 1979.
