LaFrance Russell Nielson, age 71, died April 4, 1990 in Salt Lake City after a long illness.
Born November 14, 1918 in St. George, Utah a daughter of Sterling and Eliza Farnsworth Russell. Married Swen Lawrence Nielson on June 11, 1938 in St. George, Utah; marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died October 18, 1973. Attended Dixie College and LDS Business College. Retired federal employee. Member of the LDS Church.Survived by two daughters, Mrs. Charles L. (JoAnn) Schmalz of Burley, Idaho; Mrs. Charles Gordon (Barbara) Freeman of Elko, Nevada; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Richard (JoAnn) Guthrie of Salt Lake City; three brothers, Joseph S. Mecham, Bay St.Louis, Mississippi; F. Vaughn Mecham, Salina, Kansas; and B. James Mecham, Sandy, Utah. Preceded in death by parents; one sister and one brother.
Cryptside services on Saturday, April 7th, at 9:30 am, The Salt Lake Memorial Mausoleum, 1001 - 11th Avenue. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, on Friday evening 6-8 pm.
