Our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, William Douglas Callister, age 82, passed away April 30, 1990 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Bill was born December 24, 1907 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William David and Rosina Eddington Callister. He married Genevieve Rose Johns August 10, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Retired Attorney at Law. Active member of the LDS Church where he served as a Bishop, Stake President, Stake Patriarch, and many other positions of service in the East Millcreek Stake. Served two LDS missions to the British Isles in 1929-31 and in 1981. Member of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers Mills Chapter and the Bonneville Knife and Fork Club. We love you and we'll miss you.Survived by his wife Genevieve of Salt Lake; three sons and one daughter; William D. Jr.; Stanley J. (wife Suzanne); David J. (wife Jennifer), all Salt Lake City; Carolyn (husband Grant) Head, Sunnyvale, California; son-in-law, H. James Gordon (wife Kathleen), Rexburg, Idaho; and 19 grandchildren. Preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Anne, and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 4, 1990, 12 Noon, East Millcreek 15th LDS Ward, 3750 South Hillside Lane (2500 East), with Bishop Steve Stoker officiating. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the Church, on Friday, for one hour prior to services. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
