John Faulkner, professor of astronomy and astrophysics at the University of California at Santa Cruz, will present a Frontiers of Science lecture Thursday, May 24, at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium at the University of Utah.

Faulkner will discuss his theory of WIMPS, or weakly interacting massive particles, in the universe. He and his colleagues have shown that WIMPS could provide solutions to the seemingly disparate problems of the universe's unseen matter, or "missing mass," and the sun's mysterious and unexpected behavior.
