Harold Cates, 88, passed away May 21, 1990.
Born September 4, 1901, Green Township, Indiana to Oran Perry and Nora Belle Price Cates. Married Opal Fowble, September 12, 1922 in Covington, Kentucky. Later divorced. Married Eva Sterzer, January 15, 1941 in Evanston, Wyoming. She passed away January 4, 1973. He lived for his family and children and was liked and loved by all who knew him.Survivors: Sons and daughters, Karl, Richmond, Indiana; Hal, Tom and Connie Cates, West Valley City; Bill, Magna; Betty Jane Huber and Mary Katherine Baney, Muncie, Indiana; Nora Apgood and Karol Williams, Salt Lake City; 21 grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren and four great- great-grandchildren.
Funeral service Thursday, 11 a.m., Richards Ward Chapel, 857 Garfield Ave. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Wednesday 6-8 p.m., and at the church Thursday one hour prior to the service. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
