Vera Rosella Jenkins Jones, 71, passed away Thursday, May 24, 1990 at the Humana Hospital in Layton, Utah.
She was born January 21, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of N. Ralph and Olga Dalquist Jenkins. On June 2, 1942, she married John L. Jones; the marraige was aolemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a member of the North Ogden 22nd LDS Ward. Had lived in North Ogden for the past 18 years. She loved to travel. Loved the mountains and oceans. Had lived in several locations in the United States and Alaska with her service connected family. Vera served as Relief Society President several times. Her special talent was teaching little children. She especially loved teaching and working with handicapped children. She graduated from Granite High School in 1937.Survived by her husband, John L. Jones, North Ogden; five sons, Marvin L. Jones, Washington D.C.; Norman W. Jones, Mona; Fred D. Jones, Vacaville, California; Kenneth D. Jones, Roy; Ronald W. Jones, North Ogden; 14 grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 29, 11 a.m., North Ogden 22nd Ward Chapel, 2250 North Fruitland Dr., with Bishop Brad Reeves, officiating. Friends may call at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Monday 6-8 p.m., and Tuesday at the ward, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment: Ben Lomond Cemetery.
