Free agent quarterback Steve Grogan, the most prolific passer in New England Patriots' history, signed a new two-year contract Thursday. The 15-year veteran, a fifth-round draft pick from Kansas State in 1975, played in seven games last season, six of them as starting quarterback. He completed 133 of 261 passes in 1989 for 1,697 yards and nine touchdowns. Over his career, Grogan has completed 1,829 of 3,501 passes for 26,271 yards and 178 touchdowns.
