The opening this week of a new ShopKo store in Brigham City brings the number of that company's stores in Utah to 11. It soon will be 12 when a second store is opened in the Provo-Orem area later this year.

The Brigham City opening is part of ShopKo's effort to open five new stores this week and also open a relocated store. In addition to the Brigham City store, new stores have been opened in Neenah and Marinette, Wis., Sioux Falls, S.D., Reno, Nev., and the relocated store is in Kingsford, Mich.Each of the stores has professional health-care departments with a pharmacy and optical center.
