- MINORITY PRESSURE - The Federal Communications Commission has been asked by several civil rights groups to revoke the license of almost 200 U.S. radio stations because they have allegedly not fulfilled the FCC's obligations for minority employment.
According to a recent story in the Los Angeles Times, the National Hispanic Media coalition, the NAACP and other groups have requested that the FCC not renew the licenses of these stations, of which about 75-100 are located in the West - including Utah. The current FCCradio license renewal period ends in January.
